Athletic Announcement for 2015-16 Freeland Middle School Athletes

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS

Our 7^th and 8^th grade girls volleyball teams will be holding open gyms on August 25, 26 and 27 from 6-8:00 pm in the middle school gym.  Official tryouts will begin on the first day of school.  The time for tryouts will be given at the open gyms and noted in announcements when confirmed.

Our middle school cross country team will start practice on August 26^th from 11:00am to 12:00pm. If you are interested in participating in cross country please show up at the High School Front Entrance on the 26th at 11:00am. There is no need to sign up prior to this date. Do not forget to bring your physical to this practice.

**Athletes MUST have a physical on file, or bring with them in order to participate


High School Athletic Information

The 2015-16 Freeland High School athletic seasons are getting ready to begin.  The high school football season will begin on August 10^th, at 8:00 am.  The teams will practice leading up to their scrimmages, which will be hosted at Freeland on August 20^th.

Our high school volleyball teams will get started on August 12^th with their two a day pre-season practice schedule. The first session will be from 7:00-8:00 am, and then be followed up with a session from 5:30-7:30 pm.

The high school cross country teams will begin on August 12^th with a practice schedule of 9:30 to 11:30, with their first meet on August 21^st at Hemlock.

The varsity girl’s golf team will begin their season on August 12^th at 10:00 am at Twin Oaks with an 18 hole practice session leading up to their first match on August 19^th hosted by Alma.

The varsity boy’s soccer team will hold their first practice on August 12^th , They will have two a days until August 14^th, and then start 4-6:00 pm practices on August 17^th,  and will travel to Ithaca for a tournament on 8-22-15.

Our varsity Pompon team will begin their practices on August 10^th at 5:30 pm.

Sideline Cheer hosted a cheer camp on July 27^th, and will get August practices started on August 13^th when they return from their team camp.

Back to School

Welcome back to school! As we begin to think about the transition from summer break to heading back to school this is a reminder of a few important dates that the middle school has coming up:

• Monday, August 31st - Middle School Open House 5:00-6:30pm
• Tuesday, September 8th - First Day of School! 
• 1st hour begins at 7:35am, and the day ends at 2:23pm
• Thursday, September 10th - Picture Day
• Friday, September 11th - Pink Game Assembly at 1:41pm and activities will follow after school for middle and high school students! Parents are welcome to attend the assembly and activities. Make sure parents check into the main office before heading to the assembly though!
